Help! I'm wondering whether I even have the same Greenberry and Sarah Huddleston as the one under discussion here. The children and dates seem to be off. Here is an 1870 census record: (I haven't found the 1850 or '60 records yet) Bloomfield, Davis, Iowa; image 31/66 on ancestry.com; 4 Jun 1870. Greenberry Huddleston, 54 [b abt 1815/16; tombstone says b 1818], laborer, b Kentucky Sarah " , 53 [b abt 1816/17; tombstone says 1819], b Ohio Alfred E. " , 24, b Illinois Milton " , 21, b Illinois Samuel F. " , 14, b Illinois John S. " , 12, b Illinois Providence " , 9, b Iowa. If Sarah was really b 1806, she would have been around 55 when Providence was born, which seems unlikely. Is it possible that there were two Sarahs born into the James & Hannah Haines Merrifield family? Sarah 1 would have been b abt 1806 and d bef 1819, when Sarah 2 was born. ?????? Also this list of children does not overlap a whole lot with the list in the previous post, which I'll copy here for comparison purposes: Ch: 1. William H. Huddleston b ca 1835; d 2 Feb 1882 LeRoy 2. Otha b 7 Apr 1851, d Dec 24, 1851 LeRoy @7m17ds 3. John Lewis b 1836-37 4. Nancy H. b 1840-1841 5. Oliver b 1840-1841 6. Sylvania b ca 1842- d Apr 13, 1844 LeRoy- 2y5mo 7. Alford 1845-46 8. Milton b 1848-49 More ????? I hope someone can sort this out. Notify Administrator about this message?
