I'm working on some genealogy for a friend, and have just come upon Greenberry Huddleston and Sarah Merrifield in her ancestry.
I found a gravestone, presumably theirs, in the Iowa Gravestones Photo Project.
White Oak Cem., Henry Co., Iowa.
Gravestone reads:
G.B. Huddleston
Born Apr 11, 1818
Died Mar 2, 1896
-------
Sarah Huddleston
Born Apr 8, 1819
Died July 25, 1887.

I gather from previous posts that it is pretty definite that Sarah Merrifield was b abt 1806. Where did this 1819 date come from? Is it possible that she faked her age so her husband would not know she was 12 years older than he? Or what?
