In US 1850 Census Susan E. Stevens (wife) lists Nova Scotia as birthplace. Her husband also lists Nova Scotia as birthplace. This changes in 1860. Now Susan lists Maine as birthplace while husband Edward still lists Nova Scotia. The same in 1870 US Census. Does anyone have any insights into this. Can't find Merriams in Maine. Any help?
