Meriwhether's came to Virginia in mid-1600s from Wales. Nicholas married Elizabeth Crawford and they settled in Louisa County VA. They were the ancestors of Meriwhether Lewis of Albemarle County VA. He was the Meriwhether Lewis of the Lewis - Clark explorers. Don't have much else as they were not a direct line for me.
