I was hoping that there might be a connection to a West Virgina Merchant family and that someone might know the connection...
My paternal great great great grandmother's name was Mary Ann Merchant.
The information I have for her is as follows:
b. Dec. 16, 1819, West Virginia, USA
d. April 30, 1902
she was buried at Wolf River cemetery, Doniphan Co., Kansas
She was married to David Franklin Rittenhouse
b. Jan 2, 1820, Ross Co., Ohio
d. Sept. 25, 1899
he was buried at Wolf River cemetery, Doniphan Co., Kansas
They married in Green Fayette, Ohio on Aug. 15, 1841 and then moved to Indiana. They had 8 children.
