That's OK about my name.
Over the years I've tried to connect the Mercer's in Spaniard's Bay Pond aka Shearstown. Henry Mercer was born in 1842 and was a teacher. He married Jane Earle whom was born 1840 and died in 1902. Both are buried in Shearstown in St. Mark's Anglican Cemetery. They had eight children which were Rachel, Jabez, Absalom, Susanna (m. George Henry Tuttle), Elfreda, Emily Jane (m. William Henry Badcock), William Henry Edgar, and Lily (m. Robert James Hedderson). Funny thing I have a Rachel and a Jabez in my family which makes me think the names carried on down through the generations somehow or they knew each other. The furthest I can go in my family is Jonathan Mercer married a Rachel Stevenson. Their children were Jonathan (Jr.) (b. 1844), Jordan (b. 1844), Ananias (b. 1848), Abraham (b. 1852), Hannah (b. 1853) and Henry Jabez (b. 1854).
