Obituary:
Mary Mercer Swindell - SAVANNAH - Mary Mercer Swindell passed away on April 28, 2009 in Savannah, Georgia. Born in Wayne County, GA, Mary Swindell was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Mercer, her mother, Leila Abbott Mercer, and her son, Henry Deron Swindell. She was a member of Eastern Star and of Windsor Baptist Church of Savannah, GA. She is survived by her son, Gerald Royce Swindell (Kathy) of Merritt Island, FL, her grandson, Justin Royce Swindell of Savannah, GA, her granddaughter, Jordan Leigh Murns (Josh), her great-granddaughter, Samantha Ann Murns of Savannah, her sister Corine DeLoach of Jesup, GA, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 1, 2009, at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at Windsor Forest Baptist Church with The Reverend Rick West officiating. Savannah Morning News April 29, 2009.

Mary Mercer Swindell was married to the late Henry Royce Swindell (1922). Henry Royce Swindell was a son of James Norris Swindell (1882) & Mary Isadore DeLoach. Henry Royce Swindell was a grandson of Henry Aquilla Swindell (1852) and Martha Ann Stubbs (Farmers in the Bay View Community, Liberty County, GA), and a great-grandson of George D. Swindell/Swindle (1829) and Esther Weathers (Farmers in Liberty and Tattnall County, GA).
