Death notice in newspaper, New Bern Times Daily, New Bern, NC, Nov. 28, 1872:

Died on the 27th inst. near Pollocksville, Jones County,in childbed, S. A., wife of John Mercer, aged 30.

I have no interest in this family and only post this as a resource.
