William Mercer - St. Albans Cathedral, Hertfordshire, Eng.

I am trying to correct the mistake that was made (probably by Don Mercer) that gave the date 25 Sept. 1608 as the marriage date for William Mercer and Elizabeth. THIS IS NOT THEIR MARRIAGE DATE. IT IS THE BAPTISM DATE OF WILLIAM'S DAUGHTER ELIZABETH.
As far as I know the name of William's wife is unknown. Although, it could have very well been Elizabeth, BUT NOT THIS ELIZABETH. There may be a record of William's marriage somewhere in England but it is not at St. Albans Cathedral, Hertfordshire, Eng. I have indisputable proof of this from the Archivist at St. Albans Cathedral.
The records of St. Albans Cathedral show only these following:
William Mercer had three children baptised at St. Albans Cathedral:
1) Thomas baptised 1 May 1607 buried 9 May 1607.
2) ELIZABETH baptised 25 Sept. 1608.
3) Christopher baptised 8 July 1612.
THE NAME OF THE MOTHER IS NOT GIVEN ON THESE RECORDS.

I hope this clears up the mistake on William Mercer's marriage date.

Tim Freeman
