My great great grandfather was James McMenzies, born Scotland in ????. His son James Donald Mcmenzies b. 1854 Scotland came to Northumberland in England about 1877 and is reponsible for the 50 or so McMenzie folk in England today, the majority around Newcastle upon Tyne. The final 's' was dropped from the surname during my grandfather's generation.
Have any of you come across McMenzies or McMenzie (or MacMenzies and MacMenzie) in your research? I'd be happy to receive any information.
