I have John Adam MENGES: born 1730 prob Etzen Hesse, Germany, died 1815. He had a son Jacob: born 2 May 1775, died 6 Oct 1847. Jacob's daughter was born 3 Mar 1809 in Freeburg, Snyder, PA and died 23 Mar 1877 in Freeburg, Snyder, PA.

Is there any possibility that this is your Johan MENGES? Because I've been unable to find my info re my John Adam MENGES, I've started to wonder if he might have been one of the Hessians captured at Saratoga and interned in central PA.
