J.H.S. Menefee is my great great grandfather. His daughter, Osie Eliza, was my grandfather's mother. Osie Eliza Menefee married James Monroe Huggins. She bore him 4 children: John Franklin (my grandfather), James Lee, Gussie (daughter), and another daughter, Osie,(named after her). She hemoraghed (sp?) to death after giving birth to Osie. James Monroe Huggins married a few years later to Minnie Chance. Minnie bore James 5 more children. Osie's oldest son, John Franklin Huggins, married Bernice Valeta Chandler. They had 5 children: Jessie Benton (dow in France in 1944), Johnnie Maxine, Ecie, Mary Frances (my mother), and Melvin Bryan. Bernice died of breast cancer in April of 1936. My grandfather never remarried. I am looking for more information on JHS Menefee.
