Walter B. Mendoza, 83, of Indio died Jan. 5, 2006, in Indio, CA.
He was born Jan. 25, 1922, to Frank Mendoza and Emma Montijo in Huntington Park.
A court bailiff with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for 25 years, he also worked for Lincoln Security, retiring at age 82.
He served in the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Judith K. Mendoza of Indio; his daughter, Barbara Harrel of Irvine; two sons, Michael Mendoza of Arizona and Paul Mendoza of Georgia; a stepson, Dustin Buzek of Orangevale; a brother, Howard Mendoza of Indio; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private with arrangements under the direction of FitzHenry Funeral Home Indio.
