Alas no, John Allen was said by a great grandaunt to be orpahned early and raised by his grandmother and that his mother was a Mendenhall. No further info. Like a needle in a haystack Im afraid unless an Allen-Mendenhall marriage ca 1811 or slightly earlier turns up. It doesnt appear That John had any siblings, but he did have an uncle who tried to take his inheritance when his grandmother died...we dont know if this uncle was a mendenhall or an Allen, or what his first name was either! John Allen was born 28 Aug 1811 in Philadelphia.
