Dallas Dwight MENDENHALL was b. 21 Dec 1909 in Yadkin County, NC and died at age 69, 7 Sep 1979 in Yadkin County, NC. He was the son of Thomas Landon MENDENHALL and Rhoda Jane MATHIS.
Dwight married Tula Easy COCKERHAM @1928. Tula, the daughter of Joseph Hardin COCKERHAM and Hulda E. BRAY, was b. 28 Oct 1909 in Yadkin County, NC and died 14 Apr 1949. It appears Dwight remarried after Tula died because the information concerning his death states he was married at that time.
Dwight and Tula had four children. Fred J. MENDENHALL was born 15 May 1929 in Boonville, Yadkin County, NC. He and his parents are listed as living in Boonville Township, Yadkin County, North Carolina in the 1930 Federal Census. Fred's brother, Talmady (Talmody) MENDENHALL was born 21 Aug 1931 in Boonville, Yadkin County, NC. Daisy Elizabeth MENDENHALL is listed as being born 23 Aug 1932 in Boonville, Yadkin County, NC. [In later life, this child is shown as Doris E. Did she change her name? Did her parents decide they liked Doris better than Daisy after they registered her birth? Or was her name suppose to be Doris from the start and the transcriber simply made a mistake in the Birth Index listing?] Rhoda Louise MENDENHALL was born 14 Mar 1941 in Boonville, Yadkin County, NC.
Doris Elizabeth MENDENHALL, who died 23 Nov 1990 in Forsyth County, NC, married Charles Howard ADAMS Jr. Charles was born 26 Mar 1931 in Yadkin County, NC. He died 9 Mar 1995 in Yadkin County, NC.
Doris and Charles ADAMS had two sons, Charles Daniel or David ADAMS born 26 Feb 1952 in Elkin, Yadkin County, NC and David Howard ADAMS born 22 Jan 1955 in Deep Creek, Yadkin County, NC
David Howard ADAMS married Amy Lee ADAMS who was born 21 Aug 1956 in Elkin, Yadkin County, NC. Her parents are Hobert Marion Adams and Mattie Lee Wagoner. David and Amy have two children, a daughter, Tracy Leigh ADAMS born 4 Mar 1979 in Yadkinville, NC and a son, Michael David ADAMS born 1 Feb 1982 in Winston-Salem, NC.
The second daughter of Dallas and Tula, Rhoda Louise MENDENHALL married Earmen Gayle MONEY 27 Mar 1959.
