LOUIE, how surprised I was this morning when I logged in to Memory Lane, where I have been posting memories for several years. Even more surprised to see that it was about Sycamore, MO, and Bryants Creek, and Hodgson Mill.
Thats where my father Elijah Manuel Smith was born in 1884, and where thousands of us decended from Manuel Jackson Smith (1827-1910) lived and once owned Hodgson Mill.
....also where we had Smith Reunions for many years until big flood moved us to The Dora Firestation/Community Bldg in Ozark County, MO.
I too have swam in the always cool waters of Bryan's Creek, and even in Texas we have access to Hodgson Mill Products which are about the best for baking.
Louie....come back to Sycamore 2nd Sat & Sun in June someday, and tell our reunion about what u remember about 1943.
