Hi I'm trying to find out what schools were in the area of Cook Co., IL. in about 1934-1937 time frame. Also I would like to know more about the town, or area. Did the area have a military base of any type in the area. Were the areas of Chicago divided into ethic groups like the Italians, German's, Greek's places to meet and mingle in. I need a graphic landscape of what maybe the tavern names, stores etc. were named. For instance, when I picture my area I grew up. I know there was a dry cleaners on the corner owned by the Smith's and then there was Herbies where we use to put money in the juke box and dance. Across the street was Mary Ellen's tavern and Bob Lane's house was on the corner near the park. Please does anyone know of a Leonard first, middle or last name, that lived in the town at that time frame. Narrowing down the years 1936-1938 that this Leonard may of lived in the area. He may of had a nick name if that was indeed his first name like Leonardo, Len, Lenny, Len, Lon. I just do not know. Any help would be appreciated. Bottom line this is a strange request I know, Chicago being a major area must of been pretty large in the 1930"s -1940's but thank you for taking time to read this. During 1940's-1945 also looking for a Marge or Peg or Margaret Cope. Candy
