Dear Bill, I loved your story about sleeping in the hay. I have never had that pleasure. About 30 years ago we moved from a ‘Dutch colonial’ to a ‘backward Dutch.’ The windows on the second story go in. When it rains it falls on metal flashing. This might be a pity-pad or a waterfall. At first it bothered me but now I love it. Maybe it is rather like a small tin roof? Unfortunately the design has a flaw. With screens the water ‘holds’ at the base of the wood windows which are also indented, the wood windows rotted. We always sleep better when it rains. Notify Administrator about this message?
