Dear Betty,
You have every right to give your opinion. I plan on sending Gary "The Hemmings' of Monticello" on Monday. Maybe after he reads it he will send it to you.
This is an extremely well-written and documented book by a youngish black woman. The 20 or so chapters have from 25- over 60 footnotes each. This gives a lot of writing of 'the age.'
I am not one to cast stones at others. I am trying to understand a very difficult part of history.
