1861 - 1865 The American Flag

1861 - 1865

I would like to have been in Virginia in 1863 to visit the Union Hospital where my Grandpa (several greats back there) was wounded and captured fighting for the Confederate States.

He then hsd to move from Georgia to Pointe Coupee Parish Louisiana. The South has remained last since those years.

He was so poor and did not own slaves, I would like to ask him why was he fighting? How can anyone fight to enslave GOD's children? Why was he fighting against the American Flag?
