Jodi, I hope you're still on here somewhere. I am almost certain that the Cornelius "Ruddle" (Riddle) in Christian County, KY in 1810 and 1820 are connected to the Moses Riddle family. The circumstantial evidence overwhelmingly points to Wilkes County, NC.
1810 Cornelius "Ruddle" Christian County, KY census
1814 Benjamin Dyer names daughter Hannah Riddle in his will, Christian Co. KY. Dyers are connected to Wilkes county.
1821 Cornelius Riddle witnesses a deed by John Gibson. Gibsons are connected to the Riddles wayyy back to Moses Riddle who married Martha Gibson in Goochland county, VA in 1744.
1830 - I don't have access to the Christian Co. KY census
1839 - John "Reddle" married Mary "Polly" Deason in Todd Co. KY
1840 - same thing
1850 - John Riddle, born 1812 "NC", wife Mary, children, mother "Anna" (probably Hannah) age 75 (1775), Keziah Riddle (I believe she was married to a brother who died before 1850). Serena Riddle seems to be daughter of Keziah's. Keziah is with them in 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880.
Also, Micajah Bunch was in Christian County, KY in 1810. He was a well known Melungeon, who was connected to the Tory William Riddle's family back in North Carolina.
I'd love to find anything that'll tie John's line back to Moses Riddle.
