Like I said, I thought they were just good ole' southern names.

Thanks, sounds like something I would be interested in reading up on. Do you have a recommendation for "suggested reading"? By the way, was William Byrd Native American?

In the meantime, I'll see what I can find on-line and go over the NC Archives.
