Question for you. I know you don't like DNA. Was curious on your thoughts about the "Tri-Racial" issue and DNA.
Im sure you know that many of the Indian tribes in our area were matriarchal and children followed mother clan which leads me to below. There were free Aficans haging out with some of these people and I do not know if all of the African tribes might have also been matriarcial. I was raised a tribe a Judah and I do know the tribe of Judah is matriarchal to this very day and they originated out of Africa.
Some of the people who were called "Melungeon" in records are not matching their surname on Y-DNA.
I was speaking to Jack last night about Melungeon DNA project. One of his Goins on Y DNA matches the Bass family and he has other Goins from up in Goinstown that match to Collins instead of Goins surname on DNA. All these people Collins, Bass, Goins ect traveled together.
What DNA in these lines has proved is that The Goins who matches Bass probably had a Goins mother who had an unkown Bass father. Same goes with Collins. They probaby had a Goins mother and and unknown Collis father. The DNA is proving and disproving paper as to who is who.
