Here is a little ironic 'tid-bit' pertaining to Giles Basha's land on Kent Island, Maryland....he also owned 900 acres on the mainland to the west. When his heirs fled to Northumberland Co., Virginia, 1645 Giles' land was compensated by the new government.
Anyway, a couple of years ago I put in a Google Search for Giles Bashaw on Kent. I found that a law firm was publicizing his land....after all these years...to quite the title. You know Kent Island nowadays is a resort area, and I guess some Company wanted to develop his land. I did not contact them as an heir of Giles......:-)
I sure wish I could go see his land, etc. he is probably buried there 1644....or in the local Church yard.....which grave has probably been lost for centuries.
