Don't know why the e-dress appeared invalid it isn't. :-)
Let me see if I can understand this correctly:
Aaron Shell of 1803 does not match other family of John Shell.
And this is the John Shell who m. Rebecca Griffin?
you said: "This Shell lineage is a mess. Everyone has this same lineage and it appears to be wrong."
The whole Musick/Shell lineage is in uproar over descrepancies in the lineages. Personally I think these families had Melungeon ancestry which they were trying to hide.
You noted: "Both of these tested are 100% sure in the lineage of their gggrandfathers." But are they sure of their wives? There is an old saying "papa maybe, mama's baby" And this non-parenting event could have happened anywhere along the line.
In the marriage records - John Shell & Rebecca Griffith Married May 28, 1800 Botetourt, VA.
John's Last Name Was Spelled Shull
Have any Shulls been tested or compared?
From everything I have found Aaron and Rhoda were siblings. And John and Rebecca Griffin Shell were their parents. But will be interested in anything that you can find.
thanks
Nancy
