Nancy, It has puzzled me why some Melungeon researchers would question any inherited illness......yours or anyone else's. When you go to the doctor for the first time you have to fill out a health history. In part of this history you are asked what your grandparents, parents and siblings died or suffered from, etc. I have been told over and over by doctors that most all illness's are inherited. Apparently your illness is rare and not something a regular doctor sees very often. Doctors in my own family are curious as to why I had three brothers die in their fifties from lung cancer....lung cancer is very prevalent in both sides of my family, both male and female.....also pneumonia. This cancer is apparently not tobacco related. So I was one who did not groan and take on when I reached my 60th birthday cancer free!.....:-) Nancy, I believe you are ridiculed not because of your inherited illness, but for your making such a big issue about it?
