Yes thats a good point. Yet nor are there any Melangos or Malungus. To early to tell yet but the Melugian clans may have of had habits or culturel rituals that rubbed off.
I have the the plains in Angola. They are called Menonque nothing near to Melange. Will keep looking though at older maps..
A new thought is has anyone ever compared the results of the Melungeon dna project to Irish and Welsh families there and here and compared results to any African American DNA results to find any family matchs. shouldnt this done? .
In old new york its well documented that thier black people living with dutch reformists with the sur name angola and several portuguese as well. But they came from Holland not Africa. its highly possible several members may have slipped Into North Carolina 1600s,
Interviews with elder Croatons stated that some Croaton men indian did take wives from Portuguese woman. In that case Y male dna is no use is it.? Since the Goodmans and Goins are part of both groups Croatans and Melungeons. and since one documented court case alluded that some of Croatans called themselves Melugeons up in North Carolina and Redbones when they lived in South Carolina more structure is needed.
I have a good intrest in this and see no reason why those old Croatan woman inDuplin Sampsom North Carolina would make such a story. a vast majority of one of my clans the Teaters of Kentucky come 2 of these Croaton girls Sarah and Elizabeth Santee.. Legend lore has it a Samuel Teater set up a place called the indian plantaion somewhere in Woodford of Fayette ky. and thats where girls married into Teater men,
I must admit I can find no such name or land in either county or anywhere Kentucky either. Donald I explained to you the other day that one of my 4 e3a DNA families the Pearis Parris ect came from South Irieland to the Barbaodos then the shores of America so it was way back some where, but not direct from Africa to America.
REGARDS
