As pertains to the historical context represented by this legal situation, your conclusion to combine Portuguese/Spaniard as inclusive ancestry is spurious. Referencing anecdotal claims by neighbors as factual is spurious. Intentionally gnoring these anecdotal claims being evidence of usage of "melungeon" as a complexion related exonym is spurious.
