Don I was leafing thru some articles. like one excerpt by Brent which states many Melungeons, now Christians are exicited of the Discovery of thier Muslim Roots. Is that right do you know anyone exicted about any of that?
This next article ProffTurker said thier many connections in the Melungeon dna to the Turks. I think you are administator of some of these tests what do you have to say about these simulartites.
The meeting entitled, “The Place and Importance of Melungeons for Turk-American Relations,” was attended by former Consul General of the U.S. in Ýstanbul David Arnett, the melungeons’ honorary leader Professor Brent Kennedy, his brother Richard Kennedy, Professor Türker Özdoðan and Melungeon Heritage Association President S.J Arthur, all of whom claim their ancestors were melungeons.
ÝÜMEZUNUSA President Ali Çýnar delivered the opening speech and Professor Türker Özdoðan said melungeons have attended several meetings in Washington as guests of Turkish associations, but never one on this scale. Özdoðan explained that 20,000 Ottoman sailors were martyred in the 1571 naval war with Venetian sailors and 10,000 others were taken as prisoners. Some of these prisoners were then taken to the American continent by Spanish sailors.[ Özdoðan noted that DNA studies indicate a similarity between melungeons and Anatolian Turks.] She also highlighted the need for more such meetings, adding that they are the best response to anti-Turkish circles. Researcher Richard Kennedy said his brother, Brent Kennedy, began to explore their ancestry after he was infected with an illness that is most common among Mediterranean people.
so the proff says there many similarities to anatolion turks and melungeons . what do you say?
WHY IS IMPORTANT ABOUT MELUNGEON AND TURK RELATIONS AS ABOVE?
