Janet I think if you want to scroll down the list of the Irish project and do a head count of the total and devide the numbers of each haplogroup by the tolal amount. it comes a a very high ratio of what is not tradtional White European DNA types.
The Cumberland project covers a lot of families Iam familier with. A vast majority being families that lived in the Coined Scotch Irish colony of Augusta and the early South Irish colony Drapers Meadows Ingles Ferry Crab creek tract, The there some German names . Iwould think it wise for the cordinaters of both project to do some comparisions of theJ J2 G g2 E3a E3b haplogroups found in both the Cumberland and the Irish heritage programs.. I was merely replying to Donalyns opinion of diversity with commerece ect referring to the Cumberland Gap project. How can a conclusion be made with so many names from Ireland with those E -J series. whats to say they didnt come from Ireland at this point?
Just a example I can trace 2 families to the Barbados Parris and Reynolds to NC. Then oneearly grainger fpc then to Madison Garrard ky. Even with mixing with the Joseph Goins line the male dna is e3a, The goins were the female line. Same in the Parris family the females were all Cherokee the male line e3a. So it could of only come from South Ireland before the 1650s when these families began arriving in the Barbados.. How many more Irish that started in the Barbados then to Maryland Virginia nc had the same male Y Dna is Unknown
REGARDS.
