I am the daughter of Dovie Christine Williams who was born in Addison, AL in 1923. Her parents were Asa Judson Williams and Lula Caldonia Lester, also from AL. Asa's mother was Rebecca Cantrell, the daughter of Dennis C. Cantrell and Sarah Robbins who were born in Spartanburg, SC around 1820. Sarah was supposedly mixed race or Melungeon but it doesn't show up in my genetic test. I'm wondering if they weren't Turkish or Armenian people passing as Indians instead.
