Its a real pleasure to discuss this issue with you. I guess not so many are intrested anymore. Yes George Gibson is one of my favorite characters. If Gibby and Hubbarad were the sons of Thomas Gibson from Wales and the Elizabeth Chavis of Irish heritage then we have a missing link. in regards that 1st generation not being White.Being a milatry man myself I usually put a lot faith in what are known as Officers and Gentleman. Was Jarvis a true Gentleman is there records that show contrary? if not the statement of friendly Indians, faithfull truthfull reliable to anything they promise. So that doent seem to fit anything in regards to decietfull, melengeon was given becuse of their Color, not becuase of a action, the word, Ingon Mulatto were entered into the books at the times, and were legal binding words held by the courts. Iam guess trying to put it together as those people at that time might of thought .Mul is said mahhl ah toe, cut out the ah toe put in Ingon thats what you got by the color.
I wouldnt want to go back to all the people that made Portuguese claims. Some like Thomas Hall. Who might be related to me said his great granfather was a pou ta gee , it sounds like Portuguese but there is no official word pou ta gee.
So we can assume he meant Portuguese. Which maybe his greatgrandfather was a African or Goanfrom a Portuguese post. I notice most people that made those claims moved further into more White communties and were mostly living as White people until legal problems came out. Dread Scott Jim Crow the cival war and several other factors of various southern states the arrival of the Sangamon Portuguese ect
I did read some of Virginia Demarces works today although from here its not possible to see all of it becuse those books are of no intrest to the people here. What I did grasp is bascially what I just said. Also if you can .Although the Halls Ironmongers Colliers cant get the 1st name of the Gibson girl who born William and Sicley hall. we consistently see George Gibson and Samuel Gibson with them, when we come to 1810 lee virginia we still see Aaron collier George and George jr Gibson. i come by the other brother Alexander who married Sarah ? rosary de rosa rosario some thing like that.
