LEE CLARK, a brother of W.R. CLARK, rode into Leon early Thursday morning with three horses, crazy as a loon. He had been at Rosendale, Mo., visiting his sister and acted queer while there, his sister having written to her brother RILEY, to watch for him as he had started for Leon. He imagined he had been attacked by a gang of thieves on west Grand River and had run his horses all the way to Leon, the animals nearly exhausted.
An information was filed before the Insane Commissioners and they ordered him taken to the asylum at Clarinda. He was very violent and had to be shackled. Sheriff Wolever and Marshal Pryor took him to the asylum Friday. This is not the first time he has been crazy, the first attack being about 20 years ago, and he has been sent to several asylums since that time, but a course of treatment has each time restored his reason.
While visiting his brother in this city, a couple of months ago, he was knocked down by a stroke of lightning which struck the home, and has been acting queerly since that time.
In addition some are just plain crazy and immune to lighting
