''So GibbY Gibsons father could only have been Peter Gibson who lived with 2 indians in Mr Busby s cabin right next door to Elizabeth Chvis and her brother William Chavis . All these documents are already posted dont need to do again., In any case Peter and Thomas was not Portugusse.''
As I explained on the Gibson forum the tithables you are quoting is from an ALPHABETIZED LIST...which means they could have lived 50 miles apart and not next door.
Elizabeth Chavis was fighting for her son's release in 1672 and yet twelve years later his 'FATHER PETER' reappears on the scene... but then have you seen the original transcription and are you sure it even says Peter-- or are you relying on someone elses transcription. That could be a fatal mistake when trying to write a family history.
Try findinga deed that puts Peter Gibson next door to the Chavis' or an original transcription of the tithables.
I am only speculating that Thomas Gibson is the father of 'Gibby' because Edmund Howell said his godson was 'Gibson, the son of Thomas Gibson' and from the fact that Gibby, his wife Francis AND THOMAS GIBSON are buried together in the Sandy Point cemetery. Peter is not there. Nor is the mother Elizabeth.Perhaps she remarried.Perhaps it was to a Chavis and is buried in North Carolina... this is speculation but it is based on the FACT that she does not appear to be buried with her son -Gibby.
These are just a few of the holes in your 'story'and without citing sources that is all it is -- a story.
