Jan,
I don't consider such personal sensitivities toward the epithets created by descendants of European immigrants to at all be off track for the demonstrated purpose of this forum.Terms such as "melungeon", "redbone", etc. were conjured in the same manner as all terms used to denote ethnic variance deemed inferior by Europeans."Indians" was an error based epithet for Western Hemisphere aborigine.Contemporary considerations rooted in the recent upsurge of tribal "wannabes" seem to simply continue the trend as pertains to those who descend from multi-ethnic enclaves which reneged from tribal customs and tradition in favor of imported culture or assimilation?
