Joanne,
From reading the archives of this forum back through the past five years, I'm well aware that my ancestors were not "melungeon".I do, though, still suspect that they were possibly referenced by this racist epithet and maybe others of the known epithets applied to various renegade enclaves situated in the southeastern portion of the United States after the American Revolution.
