He was found on Fayette Co. Census 1850, listed 52 yrs of age.
He and wife Sarah S.are buried in the Milton Cemetery Fayette Co., Ala.
Listed owning land in Fayette Co., Ala. Was an Elijah Melton, with land beside John H. Williams. Purchase dates of the land of both men began 1825.
John H. Williams was born 1800 N.C.
Could there have been a connection with this Elihue and Elijah, or where the same person>
John H. Williams was reported to have married a Mary Melton, b. 1811 Washington Co., Ky.
I did find a Thomas Melton with wife Anna, making an indenture of land to a William Mattingly Oct.1,1804.
John H. Williams was found on the 1850 Coosa Co., Ala. D.1891 Walker Co., Ala. Census, wife Mary...children were:
