I'm also trying to research the Melton Surname.
I have an Elijah Melton listed as having land next to John H. Williams 1830 Fayette Co., Ala.
This is listd in the Melton Cemetery an Elihue Melton b. 9/10/1825 and died 6/1/1858.
Is this the same person listed as Elijah who owned land next to John H. Williams. Williams is my connection and was found 1850 Coosa Co., Ala with wife Mary Melton b. 1811 Washington Co., Ky.
I'm trying to find any Meltons who were in Washington Co., Ky. around her birth time.
Also, trying to find out infomation on parents of John H. Williams, who I believe middle name was Henderson.
