My gr-granpa was Leonides Meloy b.1850 Mo. Married Mary Margaret Esther Ligon. Never knew anything about Leonides except he was a cowboy. Knew that he had been married previously. Through census search I think his parents were Samuel P. and Elizabeth Maloy. 1850 census Polk Co.Mo shows Sam 36 b.OH and Elizabeth 24 b.NC. Children listed on that census are Eliza J.16,Mary M.13, Lorinda 6, Samuel T. 1, and Leonidas 6/12. 1860 census, same county of Mo shows another child has been born. Alcehes 6. By 1870 family has moved to IL. and 2 more children have been born. William H. 10 and Sarah S. 4. Can't find Samuel and Elizabeth after this. By 1889, Leonides has come back to Wayne Co.Mo and married Ms.Ligon and started family. Has some other family end up in the area also. Cyrus Meloy and couple other children that belong to his brother end up near by. Some associated names are Strickland and Kirkpatrick and Bounds. Anyone researching this line? Have info to share if so. Sheila
