FAO. Tomás Ó Meallaigh.
The Melly family that i am a member of has its roots in Belleek, Co. Fermanagh. However the seem to have come from the Ballshannon, Co. Donegal area.Yet in the 1901 census, there is no record of them in Fermanagh. However, my great aunt Lizzie seems to appear in the Donegal census in that year. Her nephew, who has lived in the Belleek area all of his seventy something years, had no idea that his mother may have come from Donegal as he only ever heard of the home house being in FASSAGH near Belleek. This may be the Melly's you refer to as going to Fermanagh but this may have been before your fathers birth.
