I am just beginning to research the Mells in depth and am stumped when I get somewhere in between Thomas Mell married to Mary Boswood (1719) and the Sumners and Mary A Bunkley. My line goes somehow from Mary Bunkley to Mary Ann Dubose married to James E. Lambright. Do you have a clue how Mary Ann Dubose or James Lambright are related to Mary Bunkley, or how the Sumners fit into all of this? My only source outside the internet is an old, hazy, hard to read Mell Genealogical Tree given to me by a distant relative.
My line as I understand it:
John Mell in Charleston 1677
Son Thomas married Mary Boswood 1719
???????? with Mells, Sumners, Bunkleys, Duboses and Lambrights
Mary Ann Dubose married James E. Lambright.
Daughter Martha Axson Lambright married Taylor Butler Ferguson.
Daughter Martha Lambright (Mattie) Ferguson married Charles Tilden Strickland. (Interestingly, 2 of Martha's sisters married 2 Bunkley brothers: Mae married Charles Bunkley and Edith Mildred married Robert T. Bunkley.)
Daughter Martha Lambright Strickland married Robert A. Deknes.
I am their daughter.
Any clarification that anyone could give me concerning my earlier line would be immensely appreciated.
