I'm sorry to say but I have to end David's ancestry with his father John Melick and mother Eleanor. I am no longer sure who John's parents were. According to John's Revolutionary War pension papers, he was born 7 December 1753 in New Germantown, NJ (now Oldwick, NJ). (He died 10 May 1834 in Madison Township, Perry County, OH.) The pension papers do not list his parents. Story of An Old Farm lists his parents as Philip Melick and Maria King which was where I had taken this information from. I do not have any proof who John's parents were.
