Rebecca Melick was the younger sister of Mary Melick. Who are their parents?
I have the following information, but need to know if it
is accurate? If there are any errors, please correct them
for me. Thank you
Oliver Drake was born 1744 in New Jersey and died 1822. He married Frances Skinner Aug 22, 1770 in PA, daughter of Nathaniel Skinner and Elizabeth unknown. Frances was born Oct 23, 1744 in Woodbridge,Middlesex, New Jersey and died 1788 in Drakestown, PA.
From Somerset County, PA web site: "The Jersey Settlement in Turkeyfoot township was established in 1770. Many of the settlers were from New Jersey and the town was named after them. Drakestown, named after Oliver Drake, built the communities first gristmill."
These are the children I have for Oliver and Frances Drake:
1. Ann Drake March 8, 1771 Drakestown, PA
2. Hannah Drake May 24, 1773 Drakestown, PA
3. David Drake 1774 Lower Turkeyfoot, Somerset, PA -- 1868
4. Jonathan Drake Sept 15, 1777 Drakestown, PA
5. Lydia Drake March 8, 1780 Drakestown, PA
(Did they have more than five children?)
David Drake was born July 31, 1774 in Drakestown, Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset County, PA and died December 8, 1867 in Alexandria,Licking County, Ohio. He married Mary Melick, daughter of John Melick and Mary Todd. Mary Melick was born September 8, 1779 in PA and died March 17, 1863. I have another source that says Mary was born Jan 1, 1778
in Maryland. I was told that John Melick was not married to
Mary Todd. So who was John Melick married to??

05. George Drake He married Anna Mariah unknown
06. Margaret Drake She married Tom Marshall
07. Mary Drake She married John Reighter
08. Sarah Drake
09. Jesse Drake He married Mary Patterson
10. Jiper Drake (this is an unusual name so I have question about it)
11. David Drake, Jr.
12. Frances "Fanny" Drake April 13, 1805 - Nov 30, 1874; married Jesse Patterson on March 15, 1821
13. Lorenzo Drake
14. Don't have name of this one
I was told that David and Mary Drake had 14 children and raised three grandchildren.
