According to the book “The Story of an Old Farm” published by Andrew D Mellick Jr in 1889, he was Andrew Melick, or Malick or Moelich, b Dec 1729 in Bendorf Germany, and d 29 June 1820, and was bur in Phillipsburg NJ. He was the son of Johannes, the emigrant. His son John, 1778-1863, m Anna Sharps. Perhaps his father and father-in-law were good friends. John did name a son Peter Sharps Melick.
