I have the family Bible of William Welch where your John is listed and also their father John Welch, Senor (sic). The name of Anna was spelled Malier in the Bible, however, on ancestry.com others have listed it as Melear and say she died in Texas, not Alabama or Georgia. If you would like a copy of the Bible record, first I would send you a copy per email as I have 'translated' it, then I would like your input. Then if you would like to have a copy of the Bible record itself, I could scan in photocopies and make a file of it for you. The Bible is possibly 100 years old and I do not wish to photocopy it much. The first listing in it is John Welch, born 1797, but does not say where they lived. Some others I am corresponding with have found that line much further back. The Malier (Melear) line needs work. I would like to have more proof that the name Malier was actually spelled Melear, i.e. other family Bibles, court records, Melear records, census, wills, etc. I am happy to share with you all that I have. That was the way of the John Welch family. Rebecca.Hein@sbcglobal.net
