Thanks for the info. I love hearing stories of the family or any other information. Can I forward this conversation to my dad? He is very interested in finding out about the family but isn't too savvy online.
Here in New Mexico the name is also gone. My dad had a brother and sister, (Jerry and Kirsti) both of whom passed away recently. I don't know too much of my dad's immediate family except that his brother Jerry had a son Eugene P. who as far as I know had no children. Kirsti had at least one daughter about ten years older than me (She is the only cousin I know). She has 7 girls ranging from age 23 to about 4yo. I'm an only child.
I never knew my paternal grandmother, but I always liked hearing about the family. It's cool to hear that you met my grandfather, Gene Jr. I recall him being a well-traveled, kind and fascinating gentleman. He was in the Army, and enjoyed history and especially southwestern/Native American culture. He died about 13 years ago, but I always enjoyed our time together.
In any care it is very good to hear from you. I'm sure my dad would like to be in touch as well and might know more about the family than I do. You can contact me any time--my email is listed on the site ( firstname.lastname@example.org ).
Hope your doctor's visit went well and you are having a good week.
