Does your search seem to stop at 1815-16? Does your ancestor connection originate from Berlin, Prussia? Is there mention of 5 or 6 brothers and the Battle of Waterloo? Did arrival involve England and military transport?

Mine did!

Charles Frederick William was a Sargeant at Waterloo with the 60th Regiment. The brothers arrived in Halifax, were dispatched to Bermuda and back to Halifax. On return Charles remained in Nova Scotia while the brothers moved on to the U.S., Maine, New York, Massachusetts and Illinois.

Your ancestor arrival in 1815-16 may be raleted to Charles. If your details suggest such is possible I would like to hear from you. With added information, the search for Prussian ties may be simplified.

The following names have married into the Meister family and have may foriegn connections:

John MAGUIRE - County Cavan, Ireland

Matthew SHEENAN - Parish of Belihate, County Kilkenny, Ireland - at least one son

Thomas WELLINGTON - Wadebridge, Cornwall, England - eight children

William Henry BENJAMIN - after wed lived in Concorde & Watertown, Mass - eight children

David Ingals HARMON - Civil War Vet, lived in Brookline, Mass - seven children

Let us share the info and work on the Prussian connection. Some of my info is at

Take a look at the basic info. I add a little more each time on-line.
