I was interested in your Jacob Meisenhelder because I have a few in my ancestry; however, it does not appear that we are of the same lineage, at least not closely. From what I can tell, your Jacob was born in September 1849 and came to the US from Germany in 1867. His wife, Lena was born in April 1852 and came to the US in 1864. Jacob was a farmer in Cherokee County (Marcus Twp) according to the 1900 census. His children were: John, George, Lydia, Lucy, Laura, Mabel, Pearlie, Gertie and Louis.
I found the following information as well:
Jakob Meisenhelder Birth: 6 Sep 1849 - Bonfeld
Other: North America
Other: Mar 1867
Source: Immigration - Wuerttemberg, Germany Emigration Index
Interestingly, my line also has Johns, Georges, Lydias and Lucys in it throughout, so you just never know whether we might meet again sometime down the line of genealogy buffs. Good luck to you in your hunt. Jane Griffin
