My Mothers family came from around Hannover, Germany. All I know is that Daniel Louis Meineke was born 1800 In Hannover, Germany. His father, name unknown, was said to be the Head Forester and a Baron. Daniel came to the United States before 1840. He was a physician educated in Germany. He may have been married and his wife deceased before he came to the United States. I have no information on that. He may have came to the United States because a son lived here. In the 1880 census of Cuba (?) county,Missouri, there is a Meineke family listed-so I have been told. I have always been interested in knowing if there are still Meineke's in that area. I just have a copy of some papers that my great-uncle gave me. I don't know how accurate they are. There isn't any forms to back this up. I think the family lived in Missouri until the earky 1900's, then came to Colorado. It is just some one in my family trying to check out the past. If you have any information, I would appriciate it. Thank you-Donna
