This is nearly all I have found so far on James. We have been unable to locate a birth cert and my info is based on my families memories. James came to NZ according to family history by jumping ship,apparently was at Gabrielles Gully when gold was discoverd but had to move on as he was on the run and had to move inland. I have recently heard also he may have had a cousin in Oamaru or that there parents were cousins back in Scotland
